How's This For an Excuse

The reason I've been such a bad blogger (besides my inate badness) is that I've been knitting birthday presents.

Last night they went to the birthday girls. They are leg warmers for the charter members of the Friday Afternoon Hiking Club. I shall blog about the creative process within the next day or so.

Sunglasses added, as usual, to protect the innocent.

Yarn Quest - Chapter Two

About a week after KC and I went questing, I received a phone call from her.

"Let me pull over, I'm driving."

"Oh, yes, you'd better pull over."

Her statement sounded kinda like one of those TV "Before I tell you this, you'd better sit down." statements. What the heck, I wondered, I hope everything's okay.

So I pulled into the nearest parking lot and asked, "What's going on?"

"We won! We won Yarn Quest, we won the grand prize!"

Turned out that KC's punch card was the one pulled for the Grand Fibery Prize!

Yahoo!

KC, being who she is, insisted on sharing it with me. I tried to demure, but she insisted that she would never have gone questing without me.

And what a bunch of loot it was we split. This is my half of it.

But the real prize is the one I've had for the last several years... my friend, KC.

Thank you for being my friend, you are treasured.

BEM Hat on CLB

or, to be a bit more verbose: Bug Eyed Monster Hat on Cute Little Boy.

I do like it when I get photos back of my knitting in use.
Thanks CLB's Mom.

Such Loverly Friends

Some of the brightest things in my world are my friends. I can be proud of the excellent job I've done in selecting them and even prouder that they've chosen me back.

Yesterday one friend and I met for lunch and a computer session -- I am the friendly neighborhood nerd and act as computer guru for many. (Unenlightened self interest, I enjoy doing it.) She brought me a cat cartoon clipped from her paper, a yarn catalogue and what she claimed were a couple of results of her library thinning.

Ooh, I've had Mason*Dixon Knitting on reserve at the library for ages.
Thank you Friend! Your thoughtfulness is just one of the many reasons I appreciate you.
